This month's walk -  Thursday 19th November 2020

Alan Harvey is leading this month's walk

We plan to meet at the Hydons Ball car park, Hydestile, OS map reference SU979402, at 10.15 on Thursday 21st November.

This is a particularly attractive area of SW Surrey. There are views south from the top of The Ball to Chanctonbury Ring, Black Down and the South Downs.

The exact route will be communicated soon to those interested, following the usual recce. Allow around 4 miles, or just over, with a modest hill climb involved to reach the Hydons Ball summit.

The aim will be to have a coffee stop at the Merry Harriers in Hambledon around noon that day, when they open up. There is a very large marquee out at the back, which would allow for socially distanced groups. We would then return by the most direct route to the Hydons Ball car park, with the walk concluding around 1.30pm.

It goes without saying that the arrangements will be kept under review in the light of the evolving picture on covid prevalence and any resulting new controls (hopefully none).

Please let Alan know if you would be interested. He will then work out how many group leaders we would need (groups must not exceed 6 under covid rules), along with any necessary staggering of start times to maintain social distancing.

Keep to 2 metre social-distance.  Bring sanitizer and use as appropriate, especially after climbing over stiles.
