The December Walk
The December walk on Thursday 12th December is the annual Christmas walk, starting from the WIthies at Compton.

This year we are offering two walks a short 2 mile and a longer 4 mile walk. Neither walk has styles to climb.
Both walks start 9.45 for a 10.00am start and will start together for the first half of the short walk through the leaf carpeted Compton Common Woods. If there is rain before the walk the path can have two mud patches and can be slippery, so good boots and a walking stick are recommended. Both walks will return to The Withies for a 12,30 lunch.

The short walk will visit the splendid Watts Chapel to admire the beautiful clay moulded tiles and inside the pictures by the much admired Victorian artist G.F.Watts. Then a short walk to the Watts Gallery where there will be the opportunity to, have coffee, buy Christmas presents, enjoy the lights or a short walk through Fairy Wood. The return route is mainly on sand, then a short gradual down path back to the The Withies..

The longer walk will not stop at Watts Gallery but continue along the Pilgrims Way to the charming hamlet of Littleton. The return path takes us through Loseley Park and close to its 16th century House which looks at it best from this path.
